Our convalescent care acts as a vibrant retreat for residents who are recovering from an illness or hospital stay. These individuals no longer require hospital care but still need 24-hour surveillance for the short term while regaining strength and returning to their regular routine. Our highly competent team take pride in delivering personalised convalescent care you can trust.
Dementia Care
At Derwent Lodge Care Home, we have a separate dementia care unit for those who need it. With professional around-the-clock care by a specialist dementia team, you and the ones closest to you can rest assured that each of your dementia needs are being fulfilled. We know that everybody is at their own stage of dementia and may suffer from different symptoms which is why we provide personalised care on a 1-1 basis, meaning you can focus on doing the things you love most while we take care of everything else.
Nursing Care

Respite Care
Our short-term respite care is provided to people when their caregiver needs a break from their responsibilities, but they still need somebody to provide care to them. This allows the older individual to still receive the care they need without the carer becoming run down or exhausted. Respite care is also appropriate for a trial period to see if Derwent Lodge is the right care home for you, before you move in long term.
