These individuals no longer require hospital care but still need 24-hour surveillance for the short term while regaining strength and returning to their regular routine. Dementia Care
At Derwent Lodge Care Home, we have a separate dementia care unit for those who need it. Respite Care
Our short-term respite care is provided to people when their caregiver needs a break from their responsibilities, but they still need somebody to provide care to them. This allows the older individual to still receive the care they need without the carer becoming run down or exhausted. Respite care is also appropriate for a trial period to see if Derwent Lodge is the right care home for you, before you move in long term.
